A little bit of a dated post, but I wanted to write about it anyway, since I didn't get to share with everyone. We went to Cabo back in September for our 6th Anniversary. Neither one of us has ever been out of the country, so it was both a really fun experiance, and a little scary as well. It turned out amazing, and we would go back in a second.
First of all we stayed at an all inclusive resort, so all of our food and beverages were paid for already. It was so nice not to even worry about cash the whole time we were there, especially since the majority of our days were spent at the pool. I wish all places could have all inclusive, SO WORTH IT! We also, didn't plan ANYTHING, so when we got there we kind of just decided on a day to day basis, and really all we wanted to do was hang out. We spent nearly everyday at the pool, relaxing, reading, chatting, and indulging in a little adult beverage. Ok a lot of adult beverage, but hey it was already pay for, why not get our money's worth! We left for meals, and the nightly events, which were all onsite, and changed nightly. For example the first night was Latin night, and they had a live band, and were teaching dance lessons. Another night was a Jacuzzi Party, and there was DJ, and some pool games. Each night was fun, and entertaining. Food was good, not spectacular, but not too bad either. It changed nightly as well, and they had different themes, for example one night the chinese restaurant was open, or you could also enjoy the italian buffet. They really kept it new and different each day.
We did venture off one day, for our anniversary we took a sunset cruise out to Playa del amore "lovers beach" where they have a very popular rock formation. It was high tide season, so the seas were really rough, and the beach was pretty much underwater, but it was still gorgeous to see. We also, ran across a school of dolphins chasing each other.. which was awesome, I wish I would have gotten a good picture. I tried to take one, but it just came out blurry :(. BOO. We also did some shopping while we were out and about, and i have to say that was the one thing I was a little disappointed about, where the Marina was there was a huge mall, so we kind of stayed around there, but they just had normal stores, and there was no bargaining. So we paid, pretty much normal prices for the trinkets we got. Still cool, but I wanted to try my hand at bargaining. Maybe next time.
We took the bus into town for the cruise, and that was our scariest adventure. They don't really have clearly marked bus stops in Cabo, so you have to know where to stand, and when you see the bus you just wave them down. It was crazy, and we had to wonder around a bit, and finally found someone who spoke a little english to help us out. They were super friendly, and even helped us on where to get off. it was all just a little confusing, but we made it!
Here are a few pictures from the trip, they are all out of order, but you get the idea ;).
Here's the veiw from our room
The pool
The ocean, it was high tide, and you weren't advised to go in because of the undertow. There are these little warning flags that change color depending on the conditions, and it was black for FATAL. ACK! That'll make you think twice. It was still beautiful though.
mikael and I on the boat! Happy Anniversary baby!
