Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch a couple weekends ago, the last couple years we have gone to one up in Westminster, but with us now living in South Aurora it was quite a drive. So we chose one that was a little closer. It still took us an hour to get there, but I think it would have taken twice as long to get to the Westminster one. I swear there isn't any pumpkin patches in the south part of town, they are all north and west.
It was called Rock Creek Farms and totally reminded me of my family trips to the pumpkin patch in Greeley. You get to go out into the fields and pick your own pumpkins, some are still attached to the vine, so you have to get down and dirty to get them out. We had, had some freezing temperatures the week before which damaged a lot of the pumpkins, but we managed to find a few good ones. Maile still loves the little baby ones, but I think she loved walking around pointing out the icky ones more than anything. As always she's such an explorer, and couldn't care less if we were walking with her or not. She just kept going and going and going.

A super cute picture of Daddy and Maile. Love it!! If only I could photoshop out those people.

After you pick your pumpkins you can head back up to the front where they have a fun area, with animals and a haybale maze, and bounce houses. We went on a busy weekend, so we kept Maile away from the bounce house because of all the older kids, but she had fun checking out the animals. There was a cow there, who kept rubbing his hind quarters against the fence that faced us, and Maile kept saying " Cow has a itchy booty" I swear she talked about that cow for a week.

We also saw Piggies

Goats

These two were playing king of the mountain, and I just missed them butting heads. They wouldn't do it again. The black one won in the end :)

Lambies

Then there was the Haybale maze.. oh we LOVED the haybale maze. She ran and ran and ran and ran some more. I don't think she walked even one step. She looked like a marathon runner. So cute. She was so excited, she kept losing her focus and running into the sides of the bales. luckily they were pretty cushy.

Here's a cute one of Maile and I showing our sweet smiles off :)

and a shoulder ride to end the day. I think she had fun!

Since we were in the area, and it was getting late, we went to Casa Bonita for dinner. Maile participated in the pinata event, she ran for the candy. I didn't think she would, she gets so shy around other people, but she must have wanted that candy bad. She ran back to us so fast, once she had the treat in hand. So funny, and Mommy and Daddy we were proud, funny how something so little and petty, made us feel so proud of her. Overall a very happy day.

We are planning on carving the rascals tomorrow, and then another post with lots of pictures I'm sure.
