Stock Show

We went to the stock show last Wednesday, Linda Nevins one of our friends of the family was there with her family showing some goats. So we decided to drop on by and meet up with them. Maile and I have never been to the stock show, Mikael has been but not in years, so it was an outing for us all. I took a half day off work, and we arrived about 3. We did some wandering around before we met up with Linda. They had a little petting farm for the kids, so we definately stopped by there, and stayed for quite awhile. Maile loved checking out all the animals, and got a kick out of most of them being her size. She also got a first hand look at how animals go potty, she was fascinated, and kept asking them to do it again. They happily obliged too.. ha ha ha. We spent a good 30 min there, then called up Linda to get together. We have known them forever. Linda and her oldest boy Ryan ( who is now.. umm... 23??) were one of my mom's first daycare kids back in the day. She watched Ryan, his brother Adam and their sister Aimee until she retired from the biz when I graduated. We've been pretty good about staying in touch, a couple years go by, but we always managed to get a hold of each other and catch up again. Aimee was the one showing the goats, she'll be graduating this year from high school, and will be turning 18 soon. I can't believe she will be 18.. it's simply blows me away.

Anyway so we met up at a food court area, and chatted for a bit. Ryan has a two yr old as well, Bret, he's three mths older than Maile. They were so cute together, Maile started holding his hand, and dragging him around. We went up to the kids area, and they rode the train together and then they got to ride the ponies. They had a swell time, he's was such a well behaved boy, and definatley looks like his Daddy. We tried to stay til Aimee's showing, but it got to be too late, and Maile was getting a little tired. So we called it a day and headed home. She slept like a log that night.
Here are some pictures, they are all out of order, and unedited ( i'm lazy tonight) but they are cute :).

Maile riding her pony.. his name was Dr. Pepper.. how appropriate is that. That's Daddy's favorite soda.

Maile waving, she was a great waver, she could be the next Miss Colorado. Maybe we should look into riding lessons, she looks like a natural to me. Waving again.

On the train.... waving.. ha ha ha. The people around the track got a kick out of her, she was yelling high at everyone, and doing big waves. Then when she'd pass Mikael and I she'd yell "HI MOM AND DAD!". So cute. That's Bret waving too.

Linda and I, we so cute :)

Maile and Bret posing.. ok.. so my child never ever poses for a picture. suddenly you put her with a boy, and ask her to take their picture and she gets him into position, and puts her arm around him and smiles.... WHAT.. I think we are in trouble when she gets older. HA HA HA.

Leopold the Lama, he was the biggest thing in the petting farm.

Hugging a goat

Loved his ears.. so cute.

Love her expression, I think the goat just went potty and she was a little surprised

Taking it all in.

She tried to feed them straw.. they weren't having it. A couple little pigs in there too. CUTE
